The pope says that the essence of the family meal is being lost due to modern appliances

Use the phone at mealtimes to build a united and warm family. Pope Francis has urged people to stop using computers and watching TV and enjoy a family meal. The pope says the essence of the family meal is being lost today, as human interactions in society are diminishing and many people are drowning in the lure of new technologies.

“There are not many families in the dining hall. They do not speak. I’m using the phone. “If you watch TV, that family is not a united family.”

The pope suggested that family members should discuss the grievances of the day in their respective fields at the family dinner and build a united family community.
